Thanks everyone! ~Patrick Jim Heinz is a Professional Recording Engineer / Producer / Remixer who has worked on 100's upon 100's of recordings spanning decades. His body of work covers a vast array of Artists and Genres. He is also a Drummer, Keyboard Player, and a prolific Programmer and Sound Designer. At the age of 2 Jim was blown away by a drum line in a local parade, not even knowing what it was he started bouncing up and down uncontrollably, the rest as they say is history. He then started taking formal drum lessons at the age of 4 and continued until he was able to take percussion performance courses in college . During his college years while studying as a Percussion Performance Major (along with Arrangement, Composition, and Theory), he was a principle Percussionist with both the New Jersey Percussion Ensemble and the New York Symphony Orchestra performing at numerous venues including Carnegie Hall in NYC. During this time he also found his true love and forte: Electronic Music. Starting with a Commodore 64 and a Roland MSQ-700, he then began collecting a vast array of analog synths (which he has continued collecting over the years). Jim has now become one of the most astute collectors of analog instruments in the industry. Earlier projects include works with Tony Humphries of Club Zanzibar fame, and Kevin Hedge from Blaze. Jim went on to Engineer and Program their first hit single, "What Ya Gonna Do For Love" Jim went on to be involved with a lot of artists based out of Ace Beat Records and Power Play Records. Jim also worked as a resident Producer / Engineer for Grammy Award winning Producer Tony Camillo at his studio and record company TC Records. While there he created remixes for Gladys Knight and many of the other TC artists. He went on to develop projects for International artist Tania Alves and Larry Holmes (yes! THE Boxer!) Working with legendary freestyle Programmer Joey Norosavage they also produced a number of Freestyle hits for a subsidiary of TC Records: WE /B records. While working at Starz Recording Studio as Head Engineer and Studio Manager he recorded and developed numerous artist during this period. This was when he met Jackie Nova and produced and remixed her track, "What You Mean To Me", along with many other projects and remixes. During this time Jim was also the Head Audio Engineer for all of the live bands that performed on IMUS in the Morning on MSNBC. As for his love of electronic music, the nightlife came calling and the rest is history as to what followed. With Big Room circuit parties becoming the norm across the country in the late 90's - early 2000's, Jim would go on to have a massive role contributing to the success of one of the largest parties of them all: Sound Factory. With Jonathan Peters DJ'ing Sound Factory he needed the best of the best to add to the aura and mystique of what that party came to represent to so many who experienced it. Jim was then brought on-board to complete original tracks and remixes specifically for Sound Factory. They featured Jim's signature harder edge that he would become famous for. He was later commissioned to create remixes to add his signature sound to major artist and label tracks under Jonathan Peters. While for many the party seemed to go on forever, in the background storm clouds were brewing. As is the case within this industry disagreements arose between Jim and Jonathan Peters involving being credited properly, along with artistic and financial concerns. Since 2003 Jim has not been creating any new material for Jonathan Peters although in 2009 Jim and Jonathan did get back together creating remixes. During this time Jim did the following tracks: Charice's "Pyramid (Jim Heinz & Jonathan Peters' Club Mix)", Rihanna's "Rude Boy (Jim Heinz & Jonathan Peters' Club Banger)" & "(Jim Heinz & Jonathan Peters' Dub Banger)", Whitney Houston's "I Didn't Know My Own Strength (Jim Heinz, Joey Moskowitz & Jonathan Peters' Club Mix)" and an unreleased remix of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" . Unfortunately the 2009 stint ended the same as the original and they no longer work together. It was bittersweet for Jim as Jonathan Peters had been a longtime friend for more than 15 years. Currently Jim is in the process of remodeling his studio to suit his needs and to accommodate the new (and old) analog gear he has recently acquired. Jim is really excited about the prospect of returning to the club scene and is preparing a new sound for the new year. Jim met Patrick Silletta at the start of 2013 by chance through viewing a video he had posted on Youtube. Patrick is the webmaster and originator of the Melodic House Hub and theMHRproject. They have been good friends ever since. In fact, Jim credits Patrick with fuelling his return to making mixes and getting his music out there for the world to hear. Jim is even more excited as he can finally be free from all the drama of creating mixes for others who would take his name and get his own work out there as his own, on his own terms! This is just the beginning so stay tuned!
