American jazz trumpeter (born 1919 - died 15 August 1997 in Napa, CA, USA). He played with a number of big bands before entering the Air Force in 1942. After leaving the service in 1948, he started a job for the California wines before he eventually became chairman of Beaulieu Vineyard.
