Born in 1986 in Marseille, France and raised in Brussels, Belgium, Mikalah Susannah Ahnaliese Bathoe, the daughter of Welsh parents, began playing the piano and singing since she was 5. At age 10, she began singing in a church choir and began to take DJing as a hobby at age 15. The following year, she was sent as a foreign exchange student to Los Angeles, California where she finished high school and began college. By age 17, Mikalah was able to land a one time deal with Virgin Records, and released a cover of Janet Jackson's "Together Again" in 2004, however Virgin misspelled her name as "Mikayla" on the release, she still nonetheless decided to keep it as such. As she turned 18, Mikayla decided to then finish her studies while still performing in the LA underground dance scene at some of Los Angeles' most prestigious nightclubs and venues. It was here where the name "Mikayla 'Cassandra' Adams" was dubbed by her best friend Veronica. After being intoxicated for several hours, Bathoe was mistakenly called Cassandra. She liked the sound of the name (after switching her Welsh surname to "Adams") and since 2008, used the name Mikayla "Cassandra" Adams for her covers of "Tom's Diner" and "Material Girl" (vocals and editing credited under the pseudonym "M.C. Adams"). After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts at 22, she landed a job at Vicious Recordings where she has since released a solo album and is now an executive in the A&R division for Vicious Recordings. She is currently still active as a singer and DJ, performing in the Los Angeles - Inland Empire. She has no plans on releasing new albums or mixtapes at the moment, as she feels she is a better musical talent scout and executive producer. She currently resides in Westlake Village, California.
