Isaiah Kehinde Dairo M.B.E. (January 6, 1931, Offa, Nigeria - February 7, 1996, Efon-Alaiye, Nigeria) was a Nigerian musician known as the father of juju for his role in establishing that musical style, which eventually displaced West African highlife as Nigeria's national sound. Sideman in the first juju band in 1942, then musical apprentice under Ojoge Daniel (1947-1957). Bandleader of Morning Star Orchestra, later the Blue Spots (1957-1996). Professor of ethnomusicology at University of Washington (Seattle, USA) (1994-1995). The title of M.B.E (Member of the British Empire) was bestowed by Queen Elisabeth in 1963 for Dairo musical achievements.
