Kor-Jan Dusseljee received his musical training at the Utrecht Academy of Arts with Udo Reinemann. Beside his studies, he took masterclasses with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Hartmut Höll and Mitsuko Shirai. Later he took classes with James McCray, a student of Mario del Monaco. In 1987 he has obtained the First Prize with the 3rd International Vocalist Competition in Clermont-Ferrand. Kor-Jan Dusseljee was engaged in 1988 by the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen, where he was seen, amongst others, as Tamino (»The Magic Flute«), as Oronte (»Alcina«), in the title part of »Albert Herring« and as Don Ramiro (»La Cenerentola«). In 1992 the tenor changed to the Theater der Stadt Heidelberg. Here he sang, amongst others, Sternenfried and Mazal in »Die Ausflüge des Herrn Broucek«, Nemorino in »Der Liebestrank« and the Architect in »Melusine«, a part, in which he has made a guest appearance at the Dresden Semperoper. Kor-Jan Dusseljee works freelance since 1997 and is a regular guest at the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, at the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerpen and Gent and at the Nationale Reisopera in Enschede. Guest engagements took him, amongst others, to Freiburg and Hagen, where he sang in the German debut performance of »A View From The Bridge« by William Boltom, as well as at the Komische Oper Berlin. In Braunschweig he was already seen as Prince (»Rusalka«) and Alvaro (»Macht des Schicksals«). In the 2006/07 season he was be seen as Sergei in »Lady Macbeth of Mzensk« and as Jim Mahoney in the new production of »Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny« at the Komische Oper Berlin.
