Vadim Kozin (March 21, 1903 – December 19, 1994) was a Russian tenor singer. He began to sing professionally in the 1920s.1930's and 1940's Vadim Kozin was Russians most well known and beloved singer with the repertoire of Russian Romances and folk songs with French Chanson style.In Russia Vadim was known affectionately as Russian Orpheus. Not a supporter of Stalin nor a political singer Kozin was sentenced to 5 years in jail in late 1944. This was as part of the repression campaign against prominent Soviet performers and he was sent to city of Magadan in Siberia. Released in 1950 he was soon sent back with charges of homosexuality. Vadim Kozin was never officially rehabilitated and remained in exile partly by his own will in Magadan until his death at age of 91 in 1994.
